“11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.w 2:8-11 The three wise men came and found Christ as child.” – Matthew 8:11
I am excited that you have connected with me online. Whether you have sent in your prayer requests or downloaded one of my faith-building eBooks, I am excited you are here.
I am also excited about the holiday season. I am excited about what God has done this year. Despite the news of social injustices, mass shootings, COVID, God gifts’ us the gospel daily.
He gifts’ us power. The power is wrapped up in His word.
We are looking at times where people are also giving gifts. People are out shopping. But, what I don’t understand, is why people are doing this while x-ing God out?
People are celebrating but have x-ed God out. The reason for this season is Jesus. But, the world is trying to “X” Christ out. If you look on holiday cards, some people sign it saying, “Happy X-Mas”.
How can you “X” Christ out? Christmas is “Christ mass”. It’s to commemorate the Incarnation of the Word of God in the birth of Jesus Christ.
This season is about celebrating His birth. That’s the ultimate gift. It was predicted and prophesied that Jesus would come. The Bible says in Matthew 8:11 says:
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.w 2:8-11 The three wise men came and found Christ as child.
They brought kingly gifts. Each one of these gifts represents a significant prophetic meaning. Gold represents kingship. Frankincense is a healing agent. It heals all kinds of ailments including cancer. Myrrh is for healing and burials.
There’s power in kingly giving. This is the time to bring something to Christ.
While you are doing your shopping, think about the gift of the gospel and what Christ sacrificed for you.
By faith, I want you to think about your gift to Christ. When you stretch by faith, God meets you. I want to send you a special Gold Coin that I have prayed over because of your faith to remind you of Ephesians 6:11 which says,
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
We believe in the fullness of God’s word. That’s what we are celebrating this season. The kingdom of God is your power.
